COLLEGETOWN—Every Halloweekend, even the most loyal of friend groups must inevitably reckon with the ultimate trial: picking a fair group costume. This Hallows’ Eve, Kendall Lin ‘27 and her friends were no exception to this timeless tradition of friendship-ruining decisions.
“So, Jenna will be Tinker Bell the Tinker Fairy, I’ll be Silvermist the Water Fairy, Maya can be Rosetta the Flower Fairy, and you get to be Wonker Bell the Gray and Bland Fairy!” explained Nina Reese ‘27 to Lin.
Before Lin could reply, Maya Walthour ‘27 responded, “Oh my god, that’s perfect. Jenna’s blonde, Nina’s got the long hair, and you’ve got, like, the exact look for Wonker Bell. You already have the slight hunch and the dull, ratty hair. Did you find out that we all planned this costume somehow? That’s crazy!”
After a long first night of Halloweekend, Lin gingerly voiced her concerns that Wonker Bell the Gray and Bland Fairy is “perhaps not the most recognizable,” and the “fake beard is giving [her] contact dermatitis.”
At press time, Lin was seen hobbling slightly behind the rest of her friends and being asked to take every single group photo.
