FLORA ROSE HOUSE—On Thursday morning, Fredrick Menten ‘29 peacefully slept off the previous night’s drunk hijinks in his slope-facing single, the crisp morning air and chirping of birds circulating through his open window. There was no better ailment in his recovery from intoxication. Much to his chagrin, however, the ever-talented chimesmasters of the clocktower chose 7:45 AM for their most passionate performance.
Menten was rudely awoken by the opening riff of The Beatles’ “Here Comes The Sun,” immediately activating a pulsing headache and inducing nausea that threatened to make Menten revisit the pizza he had scarfed down in his drunken state. He ultimately decided to begin his day by brushing his teeth, eating breakfast, and showing up for his 10:10 AM lecture wearing sunglasses. As he stumbled through his schedule in a zombified state, he could long only for the sweet embrace of his twin XL bed.
At press time, Menten was relieved to be back home and looking forward to getting back to sleep, apparently unaware that 1:10 PM performances of “Mr. Blue Sky” and “Lovely Day” were to follow in the coming minutes.
