Cornell Parking Enforcement Welcomes Admitted Cars to Tow

HOY ROAD PARKING GARAGE– On March 26, Cornell Parking Enforcement admitted a historic class of 5,776 prospective cars in the Regular Decision application cycle. “Over the next four years, these vehicles will be exposed to an unparalleled lack of parking opportunities” said Nelson Herrera, senior vice provost for ticketing management and towing education. “Most importantly, every single one will be towed at least once.”

The admitted class of 2030 includes license plates hailing from all 50 states and a diverse array of drivers with varying parallel parking abilities. A historic 30% of successful applicants are international cars, representing prestigious brands such as Toyota, Volkswagen, and Subaru. “Cornell is a unique academic community where any person can be towed from any lot” noted Admissions Ambassador Callie McDouglas ‘27. “Ezra Cornell founded a university, sure, but his real passion was for nonsensical permitting systems.”

Accepted students are already looking forward to the years ahead. “By sophomore year, I’m really hoping to have the opportunity to be towed from one of the hundreds of maintenance spaces across campus.” remarked Steven Huang ‘30. Others are carrying on a familial legacy. “My parents actually met while being towed from Day Hall” shared Elena Thomasson ‘30 “I hope to make my own special connection over a $500 towing fee,”

Cornell Days will take place on April 18th and 19th, giving the admitted class a chance to experience street parking battles first-hand. Students have until May 1 to commit to collecting their vehicles from the Val-U Auto impound lot.
