COLLEGETOWN– Katerina Grochenko, a senior of Ukrainian descent, is reporting that living with her Russian roommate Maria Vasileva ‘16 has been “a pure nightmare” this past week.
“Maria won’t stop dumping her stuff on my side of the room. She uses my dishes and eats my food,” said the distraught Grochenko.
When I ask her to stop she claims that my side of the room is hers and that the food I buy is hers, too. I don’t know what to do. We’ve been friends for such a long time, but recently I don’t know what’s gotten into her.”
“Katerina is being unreasonable. I lived on Katerina’s side of the room last year. I don’t understand why it stops being mine this year,” stated Vasileva. “Why do I have to ask her for food? Why can’t I just take it?”
Maria and Katerina’s American roommates have threatened to kick Maria out of the house, but are unlikely to make good on their promise, as Maria has been paying their gas bill for the past 3 years.
